  • Successful Launch SAP System in Taicang

    Release time:2019-08-05Publisher:VAST China

The Kylin project (SAP implementation project) was initiated on February 20th, 2019. With the joint efforts of the company's team, SAP was successfully launched at 0:00 on August 1th, 2019.

The current SAP S4/HANA 1809 is the latest and most advanced ERP system in the world. Replacing the QAD that has been running for many years, the company can manage more complex business scenarios on this platform.

The SAP system went through five stages of preparation, blueprinting, implementation, final testing, and on-line preparation before it's officially launched. Because of the urgent need to improve the processes, the processes eventually implemented has gone beyond the initial project scope. At the same time, a newly developed BPMS is simultaneously online in order to better cooperate with the operation of SAP. The simultaneous launch of two major projects within such a short time brings unprecedented challenges to project management.

Mr. William Zhang, CEO Operations, and Mr. Wayne Bird, CEO Customer Center decidedly transformed the offline processes into the online management. The Finance VP, Ms. Susan Sheng, took control of the project direction, and Mr. David Xiao, the project manager, put exact demands on the project progress and quality. The project team, with their strong technical capabilities, gave 100 percent of efforts. The process owners, constantly exceeding their limits, timely worked out inter-departmental processes, and adequately communicated with the company management so that the project blueprint can be realized. The key users also sorted out a large amount of data through overtime work, and learnt advanced management concepts and methods of SAP from the implementation consultant. Through continuous practice, they managed to effectively pass knowledge to the end users after confirmation. All of these are decisive factors underlying the success of the project.

The successful launch of the project does not mean that the work of the project team has ended. Later, IT will continue to adjust and optimize processes and systems with process owners and key users. Thanks again to all those who have worked hard on this project!
